Sports injuries are not just limited to professional athletes or boys participating in school of after school sports. Individuals of all ages, including children of both sexes regularly participate in sports and fitness activities. Women are participating in what was traditionally men’s sports such as soccer, basketball, and kick-boxing. A large portion of the population, man and women alike, play golf, tennis and basketball. Many people participate in aerobic activities like running. Regrettably, risk of injury is always a possibility with any sports activity.
Chiropractic Adjustment Manipulation is commonly performed on the spine and earned the name Spinal Manipulation Therapy. However, Chiropractic Adjustment Manipulation is performed to relieve pain and correct alignment in many joints throughout the body including your neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, hands, back, hips, legs, knees, ankles and feet. Some common conditions we treat are joint related injuries. Our chiropractor is highly educated in chiropractics and knows how joints join and move as well as what they should and should not do. He knows what they should look like and the natural development of each joint. When Dr. McKirahan learns the nature of your pain, before doing anything, he will order X-Rays and/or MRI's so he can have an internal look at what is the source of the pain. If the source of the pain can not be or should not be treated by a chiropractor, he will refer you to the appropriate doctor with an explanation of his findings. If the issue causing the pain is treatable with chiropractics, he will explain his findings to you as well as what he can do to relieve the pain you are experiencing and correct the issue causing the pain.
